Philanthropy

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has been Phi Mu’s national philanthropic partner since 1986. “To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand.” The first line of Phi Mu’s Creed has been a call to serve others since it was written more than 100 years ago. From our earliest days of supporting a health mobile that delivered health care to women and children in rural areas to supporting toy carts for children in hospitals to our current partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Phi Mu has long been committed to lending a helping hand to those in need.

We are proud to be the only sorority to partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and have an alliance with the National Women’s History Museum. We were also the first sorority to establish a National Philanthropy Day more than 20 years ago. Lending a helping hand is at the heart of who we are as Phi Mus.

Kappa Pi's Philanthropy

Philanthropy means the world to us! Kappa Pi proudly supports Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. Years ago, a Phi Mu from Tennessee Tech brought the national philanthropy, Dance Marathon, to our university and it is now recognized as Tennessee Tech's philanthropy. From BonnaMu to Milkshakes for Miracle to Dance Marathon, every penny we raise goes directly to our specific children's hospital. However, money is not the only way we support CMN Hospitals! Throughout the year, we end every semester with a donation drive for CMNH, and each Valentines Day week, we do Vandy Valentines. We believe in connecting with our cause through hands on service, and we take any opportunity to interact with CMNH. Children's Miracle Network isn't just something we think about once a year, but the love we share for CMN defines what it means to be a Kappa Pi woman. Don't just believe us though, hear it from our members! To see more about Kappa Pi's philanthropic initiatives, please go to the tabs for BonnaMu, CMN Testimonials, and Vandy Valentines!
